Volunteer Orientation: Pollinator Garden

  • Catskills Visitor Center 5096 New York 28 Mount Tremper, NY, 12457 United States (map)

Be the help that bees and other pollinators need in the Catskills by stopping by the Catskills Visitor Center once a week to water and tend to the pollinator garden that was installed last year.

What to expect as a volunteer:

  • No gardening experience is required—just a willingness to help!

  • Training will be provided by Jax Hughes, owner of Happy Bear Permaculture, on April 26, 2025 from 11am till 12:30pm.

  • The hose is about 5 lbs, you will need to drag the hose from the watering shed to the garden and back at the end of watering. There also is NO shade in the garden, you will be working in the sun and proper protection should be taken (sunscreen, hat, gardening gloves).

  • During the summer months, we’ll increase the garden help to accommodate for the rising temps and need for water.

If any materials are needed, such as gloves, trowel, etc please let a staff member know and they will retrieve what you need.

Interested? Register today! The Volunteer Coordinator will go over all details with you in a brief call.

We will be hosting a Grand Opening for the garden on May 3rd at 12 pm, and you’re invited to help celebrate!
